"I am saddened to hear the disturbing news that such an incident could occur to a young man with so much good and such a period of life ahead of him. Although it is little I will include a wish in my prayers that a full recovery will be possible"
Peter Flack

"It is with great sorrow that I have learnt about this unfortunate ordeal which James is currently enduring. Having been a part of the Junior Development Program and seeing him rise up from the 4th XI to the "One's", I noticed a bright spark which drew people to him on and off the field. A talented cricketer, and a tremendous human being, I am sure this spark will see him through this dark time, and create a stronger and better person. My thoughts and prayers are with James, just as I'm sure they are throughout Balwyn, Old Carey, and all those whose lives have been touched in some way by his uplifting spirit.

I wish James nothing less than a complete and full recovery, which I'm positive will happen sooner rather than later. I pray that his family finds the strength to get through this difficult time, and I'm sure this is something that will bond them more when James comes out the other side.

Get well J-Mac, there is still so much to do in this world, now is not your time. I look forward to our next meeting and that infectious smile."
Simon Alder

"James, we have enjoyed your company for so many years, at Carey and playing for Balwyn. Memories of the Carey England cricket tour still come flooding back. This situation you are in is a marathon, not a sprint but you will make a recovery and we await the day when we can share your warmth, wit and friendship again. Hang in there."
The Karnas
